Surveys are undertaken to establish heavy areas of spoilage from chewing
gum, cigarette butts and fast food litter. Understanding the make up
of the area during the day and the night including foot falls and social
types are vital to placing the right number and type of facilities,
too many bins of the wrong type does not improve the litter capture
or help the cleaning operative to manage their increasing workloads.
Lean processes
Our engineering expertise is steeped in Japanese lean techniques pioneered
by Toyota. The expression they use is 'muda' which translate into waste,
not the waste disposed into bins, but the waste lost in poorly designed
products, the waste lost in poor manufacturing processes and techniques.
We take this 'muda' evaluation into the actual usage of the product,
can the public use the product easily and quickly, thus increasing the
usage of the facility? and last and definitely not the least, can the
cleaning operative use his or her time more effectively? Its all about
continuity and flows.
